Laser Security Alarm

Laser Security Alarm

Security is a most important factor today. Technology develops day by day in the world. The laser Security System is very useful in high command security place. It is very much efficient, reliable, easily maintainable can be used in home application. After simulation in the platform of proteus it has been seen that it is very much efficient, reliable, easily maintainable, tiny size. Where the other devices in the market are not efficient, various hazards are the in maintenance. So, interlocution can be made that is very indispensable for a high security place where nobody are allowed to enter.

Laser based Security System is a type of security and alarm system that uses laser light and an LDR. A security system protects our homes, offices, banks, lockers etc. from intrusion and unauthorised access. There are different types of security systems available and laser-based security system is an important and efficient type.

A Laser security system can act as a standalone system, which makes some sound or noise when it detects any irregular activity, or can be part of a much bigger security and home automation system, which can send messages, call the owner etc.

In this project, we have designed a simple laser based security system, which acts as a tripwire like security system and triggers an alarm when the laser in interrupted. A laser alarm requires only slightly more sophisticated electronics and can be put together by anyone with a soldering gun and a knack for tinkering with basic circuit and transistor.

Working of Project

  • The circuit is based on LDR (light Depended Resistor), a variable resistor in which the resistance varies according to the light intensity falling on it.
  • The LDR and resistor R1 forms a potential divider network which is the main part of our circuit.
  • In our circuit laser light is allowed to fall continuously on the LDR. in this situation LDR offers low resistance.
  • Here the transistor acts as switch, each transistor needs some threshold voltage to get turn on, if the laser light falls on LDR it allows supply to Q2 base hence it becomes turn on so the Q2 transistor base don’t get any bias, due to that Q2 transistor stays in off condition so the buzzer and LED also is in off condition.
  • When a person (e.g.: thief) makes a block to the LDR which disturbs the laser light due to this the light won’t fall on the LDR hence LDR offers high resistance and there will be no voltage flow to the Q2 transistor base so the Q1 becomes turned OFF but Q2 transistor base gets supply through R3 resistor and Q2 gets turned ON , so the buzzer and LED also gets turned ON and gives the alert sound and indication of some security failures
